Secret Gardens, Ludlow

Well it should be that time of year when we are walking around Ludlow on Father's Day with ice-creams and complaining how hot it is, but this year we were dodging the showers.
I can't believe that I feel autumnal and want to be infront of a cosy fire with a lovely hot chocolate!
The rain however did play to the garden's favour as the smells from the scented roses were amazingly heady. This year has definately been the best for roses as you can see from my pictures I was a little obsessed... there was not one garden that did not have some gorgeous blooms. Now all I need to do is try and bring them into my work!

Finally, I have had another creative day where I can work and get the prototype of a lavender bag made that has been floating around my head for the past couple of weeks! I had knitted the flower last winter in the hope of making a brooch, but never got around to it and so this was another idea I had! Think it works really well with the linen I have found. Filled it with homegrown lavender that has been saved in my pantry over the winter waiting for willing projects to be used in.

Had hoped I had won the lottery yesterday and so could retire early, but no such luck. Ah well , never mind ;0)

Happy Easter

I had to prune the contorted hazel in the garden and these are the cuttings. Offering these to my sister she has come up with an Easter tree and so voila a joint effort in our lovely Easter decoration. Primroses and violets from the garden too, in little Cox and Cox name place vases, and lovely little decorations from a fab shop in Ludlow, As You Like It.
